Pärnu Harmonica Festival

Baltic-Nordic Harmonica 2010

is being held for the ninth time in Pärnu, from July 30 to August 1. The festival is popular and attracts many visitors. There have been harmonica players from Nordic and Baltic countries as well as from Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, England, Italy, USA and France. The special guest of the festival this year is the quartet Fata Morgana (Netherlands) and the virtuoso Jean-Louis Emmenecker (France), Jantso Jokelin (Finland), Karl Madis and Tõnu Aare along with the legendary band Apelsin. During the festival the harmonica contest BALTIC-NORDIC OPEN 2010 will be held, in which every guest can take part. The best in each category will receive the Baltic-Nordic Champion title and award. The judges can also appoint cash prizes of up to 500 Euros. There are Gala concerts and open air concerts in the programme, as well as workshops.There will be a separate folk music concert for the public prizes. The festival takes place from July 30th – August 1st in Pärnu, Estonia. We welcome professional and amateur harmonica players from all over the world together with their families and friends. In addition to the festival you will have the opportunity to see one of the most well-known summer resorts among Nordic countries www.parnu.ee. There are flights from all major cities to the capital of Estonia, Tallinn or to the capital of Latvia, Riga. From Tallinn and Riga you can take a bus to Pärnu (from Tallinn130 km to the south, from Riga 180 km to the north). From Rostock, Stockholm or Helsinki you can also come by ferry. The organiser of the festival is Piccolo Harmonica Club (Pärnu, Estonia).
